The Falls City Resource Center scope of work included site work, a survey, civil design, septic, storm and water systems, electrical trenches and conduits, sidewalks, an asphalt ADA parking spot, light posts, and new fencing. The modular buildings received plumbing, electrical, and communications connections. The resource center provides multiple services to the community, and was made possible by a robust group of funding partners.
Jeremy Gordon, Polk County Commissioner and Falls City Resident stated that “the Falls City Resource Center is a groundbreaking community led project in partnership with The Willamette Health Council, Polk County Family and Community Outreach, Health Services, and others. We heard from 80% of the Falls City community about what services they need and barriers they face. This will help our seniors, families, and veterans who face transportation challenges. Bringing services to people and leveraging technology increases efficiencies, keeps people in their communities, and will save money in the long run. One of the many reasons I supported this project is to see the process replicated in other underserved areas. I’m delighted to see the process working for Santiam Canyon communities still rebuilding from the wildfires.”
From Concept to Completion, the team at WOC was honored to work on such a unique and exciting project for this local community. Our team is looking forward to seeing the Falls City Resource Center in action as it serves the community in a variety of ways!
