The St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall Addition is a meaningful expansion of a historically significant 1940s church facility, designed to better serve both congregation members and the local community. The project included the addition of a commercial-grade kitchen, new restrooms, and flexible meeting space termed “the fireplace room”—transforming the parish hall into a welcoming, fully functional hub for gatherings, outreach, and community events.
What makes this project especially deserving of recognition is the balance it achieved between honoring the church’s legacy and thoughtfully enhancing its future. Working with and expanding upon a 1940s structure required careful coordination, craftsmanship, and respect for the building’s historical character. Under the leadership of Superintendent Kevin Taylor—who brings over 30 years of construction experience—the White Oak team and subcontractors navigated the complexities of a sensitive environment with precision and care. Kevin’s hands-on approach ensured that schedules, budgets, safety standards, and quality expectations were consistently upheld, while maintaining clear communication and strong collaboration with church leadership.
The project also carries deep symbolic value. The mantel in the fireplace room features cherry wood milled from a cherry tree planted on-site years ago by a church member—an intentional design element that physically weaves the church’s history into its new addition. This thoughtful incorporation of site-harvested material reflects the heart behind the project: preserving tradition while building for future generations.
Upon substantial completion, church staff member Susan Hawkins shared: “White Oak Construction completed St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church parish hall remodel with an addition of a commercial kitchen, meeting space and rest rooms. WOC’s crew, owners, project manager and subcontractors are professional and a pleasure to work with. This is a company with integrity! Peter, Paul and Kevin met with our project committee bi-monthly and it was as if we were working with family. Our questions were met with respect and issues (there are always some) were solved collaboratively. All work was excellent with attention to detail and completed on time. Our new addition is beautiful and we are so excited to finally utilize the space and serve the community.”
This project stands out not only for its craftsmanship and execution, but for its spirit of partnership. The collaborative, family-like relationship between the construction team and church committee, the attention to detail, and the on-time delivery all contributed to a result that exceeded expectations. Ultimately, the St. Timothy’s Parish Hall Addition is more than a construction project—it is a legacy investment rooted in service, stewardship, and community impact.
