On August 11, 2016, WOC brought back its popular summer bbq with the goal to raise $3,000 for lighting on the Salem Police Department K9 Course. The event raised an unprecedented $4,000 and Northside Electric volunteered to donate labor and materials. June 17, 2016 – Flag Day, June 14, 2016, was celebrated with the groundbreaking for the long awaited Oregon State Police Fallen Trooper Memorial. Salem, OR (Feb. 24, 2016) White Oak Construction and team members are strong supporters of the Salem Police Foundation. The annual Breakfast with the Chief was held on Feb. 24 and owner Mark Fox and project engineer Peter Shanks were in attendance. The Foundation was seeking funding to obtain a mobile command center to assist in serious situations such as active shooter or natural disaster. Shanks had his picture taken with one of the K9 officers. Salem, Or (May 4, 2015) White Oak Construction of Salem and Bend were voted one of the “Best in the Mid-Valley,” in the Commercial Construction category. The Statesman Journal (SJ) threw a big party at the Northwest Wine Studies Center May 1 for winners. There were 5,110 nominations and 334,506 votes cast during the voting period of Feb. 16-March 9.
