Shanks Elected to Board of Salem Contractors Exchange


Salem, Ore. (Feb 18, 2015) – Peter Shanks, of White Oak Construction (WOC) has been elected to the board of the Salem Contractors Exchange (SCE). Shanks joined WOC in 2010 and serves as a project engineer. The SCE is a membership organization that provides plans and specs for commercial construction projects throughout the entire state of Oregon and Southern Washington.

Says Shanks, “I wanted to be a part of this board because it directly affects and supports my chosen field, the construction industry. The SCE does so much for the contractors in Salem and surrounding areas. There is much to learn from the other board members and I am excited to bring energy and my personal knowledge to the team.”

WOC is located in Salem and Bend, Ore. They specialize in commercial construction including: design/build, accelerated schedules and environmentally sustainable construction projects. Shanks is also a member of SEDCOR, Bend Chamber of Commerce and the Salem Chamber of Commerce.

The SCE is a membership supported plan center governed by a board of directors.  Membership is available to any firm creditably and practically engaged as a commercial construction contractor in any trade connected with the business of building, manufacturing, supply of building material, or any firm serving the construction industry is eligible for membership.
